Seeing Green

No, i am not talking about the green that brings us financial security, i am talking about green GRASS! On Saturday morning we went and picked up our grass! Cody has hook up and was able to borrow a flatbed work truck with a forklift, so we used that and it was nice being able to use the forklift to take the pallets of sod where there needed to be.

Originally we were going to plant our grass from seed, but we decided that instant is better, I had to promise Cody that I wouldn't do any "unnecessary" spending in Hawaii, which I stayed true to my word. So when we got home from Hawaii, I called Chanshare Farms and they quoted us a good deal, so we took it! Chanshare Farms is a sod company based here in Tremonton and I heard about them from my cousin, Colton, because last year he did his eagle project and he put someones yard in and called a bunch of sod companies for prices and he called Chanshare and they said that since it was for a service project they would just donate the all the sod. So that made us want to support such a generous and giving company.

On Saturday morning Cody picked up the sod and was back by 9am and Cody's brother-in-law, Troy and his two boys Rhett and Zach came and helped, also Cody's nephews Chaz and Tanner came. My Mom and Dad and my brother-in-law Spencer came too. Two of our neighbors came too. We were so lucky to have so many people there helping us. We started at 9 and we were done by 11:30, it went by so fast, Cody and I were really surprise that we got done that fast, we thought that it would take at least 4 or 5 hours. Everyone who came were lifesavers. My Mom brought me a bunch of flower starts from her house and we planted those, they all look really good. I also bought a bunch of perennials and we planted those as well.

It seems so strange pulling up to our house and seeing green rather than brown. I Love It!

Kilee! Yeah, I'm so glad you have a blog! I love it, it's fun seeing pictures of you guys and hearing what you are up to. You should post some pictures of your new yard with sod, I'm sure it looks way good!
